Your role in our whānau
You'll be part of Hemisphere's media and digital team, working across assigned clients to lead relationships, develop strategies, and deliver campaigns that make a real difference. You'll work closely with our project management, creative, and social teams — and you'll get hands-on experience across the full cycle of media delivery, from planning to reporting.

We'll appoint at Specialist or Senior Specialist level depending on your experience. If you're mid-career and ready to take on more, or already operating at a senior level, there's room for both. You'll develop data-driven media strategies that ensure our clients' messages reach the right audiences at the right time, creating meaningful connections across Aotearoa's diverse communities.

What your days will look like

  • Planning and buying Build evidence-based media strategies and recommendations for clients. Develop plans across digital, broadcast, print, and outdoor — and manage bookings, billings, and schedules from brief to delivery.
  • Digital campaign management Implement, monitor, and optimise search engine marketing and other digital campaigns. You'll manage tracking, produce analytical reports, and make recommendations that improve performance.
  • Technical and digital work Support website builds and technical implementations for campaigns. Create and modify HTML/CSS for digital assets and landing pages, and troubleshoot technical issues across campaign delivery.
  • Client and supplier relationships Build strong relationships with clients and media suppliers. Brief suppliers clearly, keep clients informed, and work with the project management and creative teams to make sure everything goes out on time.
  • Data and reporting Prepare analytical and statistical reports that give clients clear insights and recommendations. Track what's working, identify improvements, and translate data into action.

What you'll bring

For Specialist level (2-4 years experience):

  • Experience in media planning, buying, or digital campaign management
  • Understanding of the media landscape across digital and traditional channels
  • Comfort with data and numbers — strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web development principles
  • Clear written and verbal communication

For Senior Specialist level (4-7 years experience):

  • All of the above, plus strategic leadership and advanced analytical capabilities
  • Experience managing complex, multi-channel campaigns and substantial media budgets
  • Proven ability to mentor team members and contribute to business development
  • Advanced knowledge of programmatic buying and emerging media technologies
  • Track record of delivering exceptional campaign performance

What would make you perfect:

  • Knowledge of behaviour change marketing approaches and social marketing
  • Understanding of diverse community media consumption patterns
  • Experience working with government, health, or community sector clients
  • Commitment to growing knowledge of te ao Māori and cultural media preferences
  • Certification in Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, or programmatic platforms
